We accept most major credit cards for our merchandise & services
This month marked my 50th year in the piano industry. There comes a time when you must step back, and let the younger guys share the spotlight. I have basically retired from on the road service, B U T I have NOT left the piano industry. On the contrary. I am offering a service for my customers, old and new. If you need piano items, parts or accessories, just e-mail a request of what you are looking for. I will locate that item for you and e-mail the information back to you, with the current price and estimated shipping fees.
I am actually expanding my business worldwide. When I had started doing piano service, the company I worked for, had several people calling their customers to set up tunings and regular service for the technicians. This allowed the technicians to be able to do MORE work and made them MORE available to do their work. Here is what I am offering - UNIVERSAL PIANO SERVICE. I have connections to piano technicians worldwide, thanks to the internet. I will now broker piano service ANYWHERE. And the best part, it will save you the customer the tedious process of trying to find a QUALIFIED technician, and possibly SAVE you some money.
Here is how it works:
You submit three (3) available dates that are suitable with you, or we can provide you with three (3) dates. We will take into consideration the time needed to allow sufficient time to schedule the work requested. Please include your name, address, phone number and a valid e-mail address. That information will allow me to find the closest technician to where you live. I do NOT sell, trade, exchange or in any way disperse your information to anyone else. Indicate the type of work you want: for example, tuning, repairs, upgrades, Dampp Chaser, player work, etc. Upon receipt of your e-mail with this information, I will verify your service order by return e-mail. I will research my data base for technicians located near your city. You will then receive an e-mail that will include three (3) technicians names, their city locations and the amount they will charge for their service. You choose between any of the three choices provided, and e-mail or phone me. I will contact the technician of your choice, and set up your requested date, verify their current rate for that service, and e-mail or phone that info to you. If you change your mind, or decide you want different technicians, no problem. I will locate three additional people for you, one additional time, or if you choose, you can cancel your request. When you are ready to be scheduled, just click the button below to remit the fee and schedule your service request. To cover my time and effort, I will add a minimal brokering fee to the amount that the technician will charge. Piano service fees vary by technician, and by seeing three services compared, you get to save both time and money when selecting a service technician. There is no risk involved, as you will know the exact amount of the service call. Upon scheduling of the service, you will receive an e-mail specifying the technicians name, address, and phone number, the work requested and the price of the service call. Should you have any questions, you can then contact the technician directly. Any tuning recalls, are limited to no more than 10 days, except pitch corrections, which the technician will advise, as to the needed time frames. ALL tunings are standard tunings. If a piano has not been tuned in the past year, it may require a pitch correction, or additional tunings to bring the instrument safely up to pitch. Pitch raises and additional tunings are determined by the technician, and have an additional fee. Any refunds will be handled by the technician performing the service, as they will have already been paid for their first service call.
See the following example:
You wish to have your piano tuned. Be sure to allow enough lead time, so the service can be set up properly. You send me an e-mail from my CONTACT page here, making that request, I will then contact three (3) technicians and secure three prices: Adam A-$100, Bob B-$110 and Charlie C-$120 for example. If you know your piano needs service work, when I make the request, I will be sure that the technician quotes his fee(s) for that service as well as his/her tuning rate. My fee is $20 (non refundable), for my time and surcharge for using PayPal. YOU get to choose which technician you want. Lets say you pick number two - ($110): First, I will contact that technician and set up the service request. Upon hearing back from that technician, I will then e-mail you a confirmation of the scheduled service date/time with the technician, an approximate time of arrival & the total amount due including my fee. To accept the service, all you have to do is remit $130 ( $110 + $20 ) to complete the transaction. If you need service, you will have the technicians fee and as service can vary time wise, you will pay the technician only if they need to do additional work on your piano. Upon receiving payment, I will pay the technician his/her fee, and I will send a confirmation of your transaction, and also the technicians phone number. I will then follow up with you the day after your scheduled service has been completed and verify that everything was done as you wanted. Your satisfaction is my main goal. By giving you a choice of technicians, you will be able to get the lowest price available. This is a win - win for everyone: The technician gets his fee, and can gain a new client, I get a small amount for my time, but most importantly, you get quality service at the best possible price. I will also give feedback to the technicians I contact regarding YOUR comments or concerns. YOUR feedback is important to the technicians, as this is also a way for them to monitor how their service is operating.
I am a firm believer of customer service. If you are not satisfied, you will have the technician's phone number, as the technician will resolve any problem. I know that today's schedules are usually busy, and I am trying to help accommodate both the customer and the technician. I have the time to do this. I can save you the time and effort out of your busy schedule. I will also add your name to my files, and send you a reminder of your next tuning due date. I am always available for consultations on any aspect of the piano industry.
Your piano should be serviced and tuned at least twice each year. This insures that your instrument will always sound it's best, and operate properly, and if your piano is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, this helps insure that the warranty will remain intact. Your piano represents the THIRD most valuable investment you will make in a lifetime (your home and automobile being numbers one and two). The technician is paid in advance, so unless there is a problem or there is additional work needed, there should not be any additional charge. I will have the technician give me his charge for an extra 15 minutes of service, should your piano require minor adjustments. YOU would pay additional to the technician ONLY if he has to do work over and above his tuning fee. The piano technician is responsible for any recalls, that is one reason you will have his/her phone number. Please DO contact me and let me know how everything goes, good or bad. This helps me to refine the program and keep it working effectively for everyone. Think of me as your electronic personal secretary. The only expense you incur is when you have work done, and my fee is preset, so there are no surprises. No salary to pay, no health insurance, no break times, no sick days or vacation time. YOU get all the benefits of a secretary, but without any of the added business expenses. If you have ANY questions, please contact me and I will answer them for you. If it has been 6 months or longer since your last piano service, now is the time to schedule your next appointment. I look forward to being of service to you.
